The « Adalia Box» -ladybird breeding kit – is a teaching tool for the Education of Nature. Its goal is to make children aware of the fascinating world of insects. Stirring up their curiosity, the « Adalia » ladybird breeding kit allows them to discover during the 30 days that lasts the breeding cycle, the life of ladybirds and to understand their role in nature. The ladybirds bred in this kit belong to the native European species Adalia bipunctata (two-spotted ladybirds). |
The kit is composed of :
a plastic box in which to carry out the breeding,
a pamphlet with general information about ladybirds with photos and explanations to help carry out the breeding correctly,
A poster illustrating the different stages of a ladybird’s life cycle. There is also a calendar with daily divisions which permit you to write in remarks and observations,
A prestamped answer card to receive ladybird larvae and artificial food to breed them with.
Age: From the age of 3 years under adult supervision - From the age of 8 years alone
